A huge thank you to Stream Farm for welcoming us on Thursday for a fantastic family fishing trip! Ā We had an absolutely amazing day catching fresh fish and frying it up lakeside .
When some people hear the word āfish,ā they think of a bad smell or a strong, fishy taste ābut thatās a big misunderstanding! Fresh fish doesnāt smell bad, and it tastes absolutely delicious .
The problem starts when fish is stored . As soon as a fish leaves the water, it begins to break down, producing something called amines . Amines have an unpleasant smell and taste, and if you consume more than your body can process, they can cause symptoms like:
headaches
rashes
tummy aches
itchy eyes
tiredness
IBS
low mood
Many people have only experienced not-so-fresh fish, and thatās why itās ended up on their āno listā .
Weāre so pleased Ā that we had the opportunity to show the 73 participants who joined one of our four Thursday fishing sessions that fresh fish is something completely different .
At the end of the day, each family took home a fresh fish to cook for dinner āand weāve loved hearing how much it was enjoyed! Ā The day created wonderful memories for all the children Ā and hopefully helped change some minds about fish forever .
Fresh fish really is the bestāfor your body , your brain , and your taste buds !
