Fresh Fish – For Better Mood, Behaviour, and Health 🐟✨

We all know that fresh fish is good for our health — and Enya, her mum, and her teacher can confirm it's absolutely true!

Enya has taken part in Live Naturally’s healthy eating courses at her local primary school, as well as after school cooking and holiday cooking.

During the Easter holidays, she even visited Stream Farm for a fun fishing trip, catching her own fresh fish!

Meanwhile, her mum, Filly, completed a six-week course focused on the benefits of eating fresh, natural foods to support better mood, behaviour, and overall health.

When Filly first joined the course, she was concerned about Enya’s mood, behaviour, and concentration. Homework was a battle, her attention span was very short, and she struggled to stay focused in school. At home, mood swings were frequent, and managing her emotions was difficult.

Learning about the connection between nutrition and brain health was a real eye-opener. The brain needs plenty of essential fatty acids — like Omega 3, 6, and 9 — to function properly. As the name suggests, essential fatty acids are exactly that: essential! Our bodies can’t produce them on their own, so we must get them through our diet. Without enough, our brain function can suffer, affecting mood, sleep, concentration, and behaviour.

Good sources of essential fatty acids include fresh fish, nuts, seeds, and leafy green vegetables.

Before the course, the family ate fish occasionally but not regularly, as recommended by government healthy eating guidelines. With their new knowledge, they committed to eating fish more often and also added Omega-3 supplements to their routine — and the results were remarkable. Not only did Filly and Enya notice the change, but friends, family, and even Enya’s teacher saw the difference.

At a recent parent meeting, the teacher said:

"Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it — it’s working! Her concentration has massively improved, she’s more focused, and her mood and academic skills have already taken a big step forward."

Is your child struggling with focus, concentration, behaviour, or sleep? Their brain might be missing out on essential nutrients. Join our next course and discover simple, positive changes you can make to your family’s eating habits to support both physical and mental health.

The course is completely free for families in Bridgwater, thanks to generous funding from the Hinkley Point Community Fund.

A heartfelt 'thank you' for making it possible to support families in Bridgwater on their journey to better health and wellbeing.
