Omega-3-rich foods make a difference in children's behavior and concentration

Children across Bridgwater are learning to eat well and include fresh fish in their diets to boost the essential nutrient, Omega-3. Omega-3 in fresh oily fish contributes to a healthy mind-concentration, healthy behaviour-attention and healthy heart- energy levels.

Thanks to the generous funding from Hinkley Point C to improve the local’s lives, Live Naturally have been able to bring their healthy food courses to schools, toddler groups and parents through their day visits and online courses. It’s showing positive results.

"My children thoroughly enjoyed participating in the healthy eating project. I witnessed them trying foods they would never dare to eat at home. Since we started incorporating healthier options into our meals, they have embraced it, become more adventurous, and truly enjoyed the experience." - A parent.

"I have noticed a significant positive change in my child's behaviour since we made adjustments to our eating habits as a result of this course." - A parent

"Ever since we introduced more fresh fish and omega-3-rich foods into our diet, my child's concentration has improved significantly."

Boys from three different schools enjoyed tasting fresh fish during one of our after-school family cooking sessions.

They discovered that fresh fish tastes delicious—it’s not the typical 'fishy' flavor some expect. When fish is stored, it begins to break down, developing an unpleasant taste and smell, but fresh fish is truly great.

‘Your child now comes in settled, their handwriting has improved significantly and their ability to listen and follow along has dramatically improved, thanks to whatever you’re doing! Keep it up!’ -Teacher’s comment at Parent’s evening when one parent upped their omega 3 intake.

We at Live Naturally are thrilled to receive positive feedback like this! Let’s keep eating healthy and, especially, aim to consume more omega-3-rich foods each week. If your child doesn’t like fish, a teaspoon of fish oil daily can still make a difference in their behavior and concentration. - Course tutor.
