Gill is one of the happy participants from this autumn’s Healthy Eating Project, but she didn’t hesitate to sign up for the January Challenge—and here’s why:
Despite knowing the importance of healthy eating, a balanced diet, and regular exercise, these good intentions can easily slip down the priority list in the busy rhythm of 2025. When both parents work, and children’s schoolwork, clubs and needs all require attention, fitting everything in can feel overwhelming.

“Attending the healthy lifestyle projects from Live Naturally CIC helps me move my wellbeing back to the top of my priority list—and that is essential for my health.”
Gill has lived with a severe autoimmune bleeding disorder since childhood, which causes significant fatigue. For her, many sports, running and even the gym simply aren’t accessible. But walking has been a fantastic way to stay active, so as soon as she heard about the January Challenge, she signed up.
“I know that small steps—like registering for the challenge and joining an online group of others doing the same—will set me up for a healthier 2026.”
The same goes for the 30 Plants Project. It’s easy to fall into repetitive eating habits, but joining the taster sessions and receiving ideas, tips and encouragement straight to her phone has helped Gill bring more variety into her diet.
“Those reminders and that support really boost my motivation. They lead to real lifestyle changes, even if they’re small ones. I’m looking forward to the New Year and the challenges helping me do the best I can for my health.”
Gill’s seven-year-old son also attended the Eat Well course—and the results have been amazing. He now enjoys sweet potato, broccoli, carrots, kale, beetroot, red kidney beans and even persimmons! He used to be a very fussy eater, so taking part in the healthy eating courses has truly helped him try—and like—new foods.
